Knife with Leather Handle and Belt Sheath
French tradition. Hunting knives.
In the old knife town of Thiers in Auvergne, the forge Wildsteer is a young company. Since 2004, the company has specialized in the production of outdoor and survival knives. New blade shapes and innovative manufacturing techniques continue the centuries-old forging tradition of the town. This knife is the best proof: a handy knife with a fixed, four-millimeter-thick blade made of corrosion-resistant Sandvik® steel - in other words, Swedish steel.
The steel is heated to temperatures of over 1,200 °C and forged in a high-precision mold, and the blade is then hardened and ground. It requires little care and should only be cleaned with clean water. The manufacturer recommends occasional resharpening with a fine grit diamond or ceramic grinder. Mixed tanned leather (chrome tanned in the center and vegetable tanned on the outer sides) is artfully wrapped and tied around the full-length, solid knife handle, and the quiver, also leather, is worn on the belt.
