Ladies cabana coat

The Kaban, the work jacket of Breton fishermen, has long been at home on all the world's oceans and is considered one of the maritime garments par excellence. However, it has only had its characteristic blue color since the early 19th century, because it was originally white - hence its name, which derives from the Breton "kap gwenn" (white fabric). Keeping this tradition in mind, Lanius makes this kaban coat from an undyed fabric. It is strong, warming and durable and is made of virgin wool, linen and some polyester. The Kaban coat is classically double-breasted with genuine horn buttons and equipped with two side pockets.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
