The Werner family business from the Palatinate has been working with leather since its foundation in 1911. Sustainability and ecology have always been top priorities. Among other things, modern processes such as olive leaf tanning are used, in which a purely vegetable extract from olive leaves is used for tanning. Thanks to the high quality of the raw materials and the vegetable tanning processes, the leather retains its natural character and supple feel.
The many years of experience with the natural material is also evident in the designs and in the processing. From the first cut to the last seam, the leather is meticulously processed into bags, belts and shoes, sometimes still by hand. The result is shoes with a pleasant feel and a proven fit, as well as thoughtfully designed handbags with practical details. For many years, production took place exclusively at the company's founding location in Pirmasens, but today the "Steppmäde" and "Zwicker" work in Southeastern Europe. The raw materials come from Germany and neighboring European countries, which guarantees a consistently high quality and keeps the transport routes as short as possible.
