These lightweight, fine and soft leggings are perfect for wearing as thermal underwear in winter. They can also be combined with a skirt in the transitional season. Thanks to the combination of wool and silk, they are not only warm, temperature-regulating and supple, they also fit the silhouette perfectly. The lack of side seams makes them even more comfortable to wear. The wool used comes from controlled organic animal husbandry.

In the Swabian Alb, underwear and functional apparel are produced that are remarkable in many ways. First, there’s the name—which seems to refer to Italy but is actually an acronym standing for the merchant and farmer Conrad Maier. In 1884, he began knitting fabric in his own living room and marketed it throughout southern Germany. Since 1884, purchasing yarn at Comazo has been a “top priority,” because even the choice of yarns significantly determines the quality of the finished products. What has changed, however, is that Comazo became the first German lingerie company to be Fair Trade-licensed in early 2009 and now processes GOTS-certified materials. Tradition is also evident in the processing of the yarns: local knitting mills use circular knitting machines to produce the tubular fabric, which is then bleached and dyed in-house. And here, too, tradition is combined with innovation: Comazo monitors its own wastewater, pre-treats it, and then directs it to either the company’s own or the municipal wastewater treatment plant. At the headquarters, a heat recovery system has also been put into operation, which optimizes energy efficiency.

Cutting the fabric is done partly by hand with a tape knife and requires skill and concentration. After the necessary components are assembled, the garments are sewn in one of the company’s own sewing facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Romania. In short: Comazo keeps a close eye on every step of production to ensure that the final product is underwear of consistently high quality that feels pleasantly soft against the skin.
