In the past, a vest had to be accompanied by a matching suit, but today it is a full-fledged garment that can be combined in a variety of ways - with a shirt or blouse, with cloth trousers or jeans. The outer fabric of this concealed buttoned vest is made of pure linen. This is used for both the front and the back. Linen has outstanding moisture-regulating properties and is therefore the material of choice for the warm season. In addition to a striking pinstripe, the lightweight fabric displays the slightly irregular structure typical of linen. The vest is crafted in a loose fit with a deep armhole, which ensures a comfortable fit and makes it easy to put on and take off. The lining is made of skin-friendly cotton.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
