Le Klint table lamp 375
Turned on its head: a classic suitable for the table
The 375 table lamp is a reinterpretation of the iconic model 107 - the pendant lamp designed by Esben Klint in 1942, which has been synonymous with Le Klint design since its introduction and originally even formed the background of the company logo. Le Klint has now virtually turned it on its head for table use. As you would expect from Le Klint, the materials are beyond reproach. The shade is made of hand-folded paper from the Gmund handmade paper mill on Lake Tegernsee. It allows the light to shine through without glare and its warm color creates a cozy atmosphere in the room. The base is made of solid, light-colored (Ø 18 cm version) or smoked (Ø 22 cm version) oak wood, complemented by a decorative ring made of brushed brass. The 375 table lamp is available with shades in different sizes. The two sizes we offer cut a fine figure on the desk, on the chest of drawers (not only) in the hallway and on the bedside table.
Le Klint. Scandinavian in design, quality and mentality.
Le Klint is one of the few lighting manufacturers with a recognizable design signature. The company, based in Odense, Denmark, was founded in 1943 by Tage Klint, son of architect Peder V. Jensen Klint and brother of furniture designer Kaare Klint, and named after his daughter's call name Lise Le Charlotte Klint. Characteristic for Le Klint is not only to deal with own designs, but also to cooperate again and again with well-known designers - not a few of whom also bore the name Klint.
But there is another reason why the combination of head and hand, tradition and high technology, and Danish design over the years and decades has resulted in a lighting program of the highest quality. Jan Klint, managing director until 1989, converted the family shares into a foundation as early as 1972. In this way, Le Klint has been able to maintain its high standards and local production in Odense to this day - unaffected by cheap mass production, price and wage dumping or outsourcing. In this way, Le Klint has succeeded in preserving the unique skills of its highly specialized workforce while at the same time continuing to develop technically and creatively through training, scholarships and cooperation with renowned designers.
That much of this was forward-looking from the start is exemplified by the use of folded handmade paper as a material for the lampshades - which ensures a specific, recognizable aesthetic and is also ecologically sensible. And even if today not all Le Klint designs come with paper shades, some still do - including the ones we offer.
