Leather fiber fabric, or "Lefa" for short, is a material made from leather scraps and natural latex. This has two advantages: 1. leather offcuts that are left over during production can be recycled. This saves raw materials and therefore resources. 2. the properties of the material are similar to those of leather: Lefa has a similarly "warm" feel and also smells like leather. It is flexible (so it cannot crease), its hydrophobic surface makes it insensitive to water (although water does leave stains) and it is largely resistant to (greasy) marks. Lefa can therefore be used for many different purposes: for the production of shopping bags, writing pads and (note) book covers.

Due to its leather-like feel, Lefa is also suitable for placemats and coasters. Thanks to the (here) sealed surface, it is very easy to wipe clean, unlike leather. And although the surface is slightly textured (like a leather grain), nothing sticks to it. All traces of water, coffee or wine can be wiped off completely. Another advantage that we didn't mention above: Lefa does not delaminate, it can be processed with open edges and will still not disintegrate at the edges. Our Lefa coaster consists of 60 percent leather fibers and 20 percent natural rubber. 20 percent are processing aids such as water, dyes or natural fats. With a material thickness of 1.4 millimetres, it provides a good base for glasses, vases and the like to protect the surface of the table or shelf. You can also find matching placemats in our range.
