This cap is certainly unusual by local sauna standards—but wonderfully practical, and thus one of those things that make you wonder: How did we ever manage without it? And why hasn’t the sauna cap found its way from Finland to us long ago? Finland—no wonder this gem comes from the land of sauna experts.

The cap’s primary purpose is to protect your head and hair from the heat in the sauna. But when stepping outside or while swimming outdoors, it also protects against the cold. The combination of linen and cotton is the perfect choice for this, as linen is a poor conductor of heat but can absorb a lot of moisture and wick it away quickly. The proportion of skin-friendly organic cotton makes the heavily textured fabric slightly more supple; overall, however, due to the high linen content (70%, Masters of Linen®), it is very firm and grippy and has a vigorous massaging effect. This highlights the second extremely practical benefit of the sauna hat: it can be used like a massage glove. After a sauna session, it can be tossed in with the towels for laundry and hung up to dry using the small handle.
