Luggage carrier bag cowhide

This exceptional luggage carrier bag is one of a series of bicycle bags and accessories that we have developed together with Greenbelts®. We have it made from the same supple cowhide as the Greenbelts® bags in our line, a soft yet very strong leather that is finished with an open edge. The lush use of materials and the accurate finish using topstitching, in turn, ensure durability and stability. In terms of design, we have taken the old Swiss army bags as a model: simple, downright pragmatic purist, solid and designed purely for the purpose, with the characteristic rivets and ball-button closures on the straps.

The bike bag is a universal load carrier, which can also be used for leisure and office. Because here the bag makes not only visually something: In the large main compartment laptop and A4 documents or even times smaller purchases find space. Two pockets hold small items. Thanks to hammerhead handle on the leather-reinforced lid, the bike bag can be carried well when you are on foot. Optionally, you can also attach a shoulder strap that can be ordered separately.
For the bike ride, the bag is simply mounted on the luggage rack via two straps with ball-button closures. Here it withstands wind and weather, because the robust, vegetable-tanned and barrel-dyed leather is weatherproof and, in addition to daily use and heavy wear, can also withstand a rain shower. And to keep everything dry inside, the lid is crafted with folded edges. In 2005, Ihmels went into business with his own brand. Next to the offices, he has vegetable-tanned full-grain cowhide processed into belts and bags. Ihmels works exclusively with European tanneries that guarantee all relevant environmental standards and provide solid, honest leathers that need neither lining nor padding. You can feel, see and smell the leather’s quality in the finished product. Plus, such leathers can merge into the natural material cycle at the end of the product’s life. Ihmels feels every piece of leather he processes was once the skin of a living being and should be respected and honoured accordingly. For this reason, he does everything in his power to process the leather in a way that preserves its value over a long time.
