Lycopene Oil Serum for Women
All-round protection. One serum, many applications
Valuable plant oils such as argan, macadamia and rosehip oil as well as almond oil provide the skin with moisture and nutrients. The serum can be used as a regenerating night cream as well as a day care and make-up base; it is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy film. As a body lotion, the lycopene serum is particularly effective when massaged onto still damp skin. However, you can also mix it with your moisturizer or lotion. Also suitable as a hair treatment: massage into the ends before shampooing and wash your hair as usual after five minutes. After extensive sunbathing, it soothes and moisturizes the skin.
The oil is produced and bottled by hand in Extremadura, where the lycopene and almond oil also come from. The other oils come from Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Chile.
Lycopene. Natural Cosmetics Made from Tomatoes.
When Gema Correa, Blanca Bravo and Mamen González were teenagers, they discovered a special property in their home region’s tomatoes growing in field cultivation. Tomatoes of the Extremadura region have been ever since well-known for their intense aroma, but nobody considered them particularly suitable for cosmetic purposes. A few years ago, a medical report confirmed the friends’ idea of the health-promoting effect of tomatoes. According to the report, the popular red fruits contain many nutrients, vitamins, trace elements and minerals such as vitamins A, B, C, magnesium, iron and zinc. What’s more, tomatoes are particularly rich in lycopene. The vegetal substance belongs to the carotenoids and is responsible for the red colour and the firm, smooth skin of the tomato. The resilient skin protects the fruit’s water-rich body even in blazing heat and intense sunlight.
Lycopene (from the neo-Latin Lycopersicum, i. e., the tomato species) is considered a radical quencher and is one of the most effective natural antioxidants. It helps the body with this property to render harmless the reactive molecules, so-called free radicals, which, among other things, are responsible for skin ageing. However, lycopene can do even more. It strengthens the skin’s property for tolerating UV radiation, helps to reduce pigmentation spots and prevents the formation of wrinkles. Since it also stimulates the body’s collagen formation processes, the skin’s firmness and tissue density also benefit from lycopene. The three friends decided to develop a natural cosmetics line based on lycopene without further ado. In their laboratory, they manually process tomatoes from neighbouring farms and selected oils (of local origin for the most part). The resulting serum is suitable for both men’s and women’s facial care. Besides, you may apply the serum as body lotion or put it to use as a hair treatment.
Due to the lycopene it contains, which gives tomatoes their red colour, the lycopene oil serum may stain light-coloured clothing or bedding for some time after the application.
