In the classic form, the garden spade, among many other uses, is the tool of choice for dividing perennials, digging large planting holes, cutting off bed edges or reclaiming previously unused areas.

Think of the small moments when they compensate for the effort that is usually involved in their use by “cooperating” effectively and offering a pleasant functional and haptic experience in return – for decades to come.

We have two different variations of stainless steel processed at Sneeboer in North Holland: a tougher one for the springs and grommets of the handle holders containing a higher amount of alloy and one containing a lower amount of alloy; the latter is more easily forgeable, resulting in excellently shaped functional parts. Additionally, we have the springs and grommets lengthened on all our tools. These particular dimensions guarantee enhanced stability during work and less risk of breakage for the handle.  Brass rivets fasten the grommets permanently and securely.

It goes without saying that we provide you with tool handles made from immaculate ash wood. We have it checked thoroughly to ensure that the grain is as vertical as possible. This working step reduces the risk of breakage to a minimum and guarantees the swinging stability that characterizes an excellent tool handle. For further refinement, linseed oil varnish is applied to the cleanly sanded wood surface.
