    General Information

Balloon cap. Made of Italian linen fabric

In the early 20th century, balloon caps became popular in Europe and North America - among newsboys, which earned them the name "newsboy cap" in English-speaking countries. Diefenthal makes this newsboy cap-style cap from an outer fabric of pure linen - a material that does not retain heat due to its fiber structure, helping to keep a cool head in summer. Woven thread thickenings give the fabric a lively look. It comes from Tessuti di Sondrio, a traditional company in the Italian Alps that specializes in the processing of linen, hemp and wool.

Diefenthal. Hang On to This Hat!

Pia Diefenthal, a hatter in the fourth generation, combines her expertise and passion with the long-standing family tradition. The result is well-thought-out hats and caps, including headwear classics – some of them made from surprising materials. Eventually, Diefenthal finds inspiration in the metropolises of the world.
