This ankle-high lace-up shoe comes with a smooth vamp and two pairs of eyelets. The shoe is the result of a design collaboration with the German musician, Max Herre. The shoe resembling a chukka boot is made from smooth leather which is vegetable tanned and oiled in Portugal. As a natural product, the rubber of the light crêpe sole adapts well to the ambient temperature: in winter, the sole firms up, and in summer, it becomes softer. The unlined shoe features a contrast seam and a practical heel strap. Comes with an extra pair of laces.

In an ancient Ottoman language, Ekn [i'kin] means seed. To thrive, it needs fertile soil - and cultivating this is the aim of founder Noel Klein-Reesink and his shoe brand Ekn Footwear. The Frankfurt-based label aims to provide an ethical alternative to the conventional sneaker market and produces a manageable selection of sneakers, runners, boots and belts by hand that impress with their feel, quality and special details. Production takes place in Portugal. The chrome-free tanned leather from experienced tanneries also comes from Portugal (and from Germany for the belts). The canvas components of the shoes come from controlled organic raw materials and the soles are made from latex-based rubber and raw rubber or recycled materials. For the fasteners and eyelets of the belts, Ekn Footwear uses nickel-free materials.
