General Information

Alpine classic, contemporary design

The Janker, a straight-cut, hip-length jacket made of rolled sheep's wool, is a traditional part of traditional costume fashion and often comes across as ornamentally overloaded. This example from Stapf is completely different. It is pleasantly puristic and yet undoubtedly recognizable as a Janker: collarless, with three inset pockets and simple decorative borders on pocket openings, sleeve ends and all around from the neck opening to the hem of the torso. The striking metal buttons are very typical, the warming virgin wool whale shows a beautiful melange look. This unlined Janker can be combined in many ways - with blue jeans and a white stand-up collar shirt, however, it looks particularly good.

Stapf. Tradition and modernity combined

Stapf is a Tyrolean specialist for knitted and fulling jackets made of wool. Founded in 1958 by Richard Stapf in Wörgl, the company is now run by Kathrin and Sebastian Proft. Both have the ambition to create garments that can accompany their wearers for many years. The basis for this is not only the well thought-out cuts, which blend traditional and modern elements, but also the fabrics, which are knitted and milled in Wörgl. The garments are made up in partner companies within Europe.
