Open-edged, single-ply belt that acquires a particularly beautiful patina over time. It is made of vegetable tanned cowhide of German origin, which is characterized by durability and longevity. The "harness leather" acquires these properties primarily through intensive fatliquoring. The solid brass buckle is sewn on by hand with saddler's stitch, the belt edges are cleaned out with wax.

Since 1825, the name Schröder has been synonymous with expertise in leather in Uetersen, Schleswig-Holstein. For 140 years, leather was tanned and crafted into leather goods at the company’s own facility—until 1964. At that time, the leather manufacturer closed its own tannery and began specializing in the production of leather goods. Since then, the family-run business has been crafting belts whose value lies in the details. They are always made from vegetable-tanned or pit-tanned cowhide sourced from European tanneries. The leather is never sprayed with dye; instead, it is dyed throughout in a vat—ensuring that its surface remains textured and vibrant.
