Densely woven, brushed, and thus inimitably soft and textured, this substantial moleskin is made of pure cotton—the fabric Tellason uses to craft this distinctive shirt. The shirt features a Kent collar. Two patch pockets—one of which has an integrated pen compartment—hold small everyday items.

Behind Tellason, based in San Francisco, are Tony Patella and Pete Searson. Both bring a fair amount of experience to the table: Before they started their own business a few years ago, they had already spent two decades in the clothing industry as made-to-order clothing manufacturers. Since then, they have made a good name for themselves with their brand. Inspired by found pieces from the working world, they create particularly authentic garments. When making up garments, they like to use tried and tested fabrics, especially textiles full of character, for example, denim from Japan or weaves used for guild clothing from Germany.
