The overshirt is versatile, as it can be worn on its own like a shirt, as a thin jacket over a T-shirt or as an intermediate layer under a jacket. This makes it an ideal garment for the transitional period with its strongly changing temperatures during the day. Blaumann uses a non-slip denim with a soft feel for this shirt. The seams are finished with contrasting yarn, giving it a look full of character. The front of the shirt is finished with pleats and decorative seams (pleated front), which gives the shirt more structure, depth and an individual touch. Rectangular decorative stitching fixes the pleats at regular intervals and serves as a decorative element. Two patch breast pockets with buttoned flaps hold small items for everyday use.

Künzelsau in Hohenlohe was once a jeans hub until a major player in the industry ceased production there. Four friends—Christian Hampel, Guido Wetzels, Peter Bättig, and Gerd Walz—have revived this tradition. In 2013, they founded the Blaumann jeans manufacturer with the goal of producing durable goods rather than chasing fleeting trends. What began with pants has since expanded to include shirts and vests—and classic fabrics like corduroy have joined the denim lineup.

However, compromising on materials is still out of the question at Blaumann. The fabrics—genuine Japanese denim and corduroy from a specialized German mill—meet the highest standards. Components such as threads, buttons, and leather labels also come from Germany. The craftsmanship is beyond reproach as well. The result is clothing full of character that, through daily movement, wear, and use, evolves into deeply personal companions.
