The outer material of this unlined parka keeps out precipitation and splashing water (e.g. on a bike). The spacious hood with peak and drawstring, the water-repellent two-way zipper and the taped seams all contribute to this. Velcro sleeve straps in combination with elasticated cuffs make it easy to adjust the width of the sleeve openings, while ventilation eyelets under the armpits increase comfort. The parka's matt fabric is made from recycled polyester from post-consumer textiles, i.e. clothing that has already been worn. Two slanted side pockets with panels above the opening can hold small items for everyday use. And as the parka is a real lightweight, it is ideal for wearing as the top layer of a layering look.

Spanish designer Javier Goyeneche has found his own way to combat raw material waste. Since 2012, his label Ecoalf has been producing fashion made from recycled fibers. A key project is “Upcycling the Oceans,” founded in 2015, in which more than 4,000 fishermen and fisherwomen from Spain, Thailand, Greece, Italy, France, and Egypt now recover plastic waste from the ocean. This waste is transformed into yarn, which is then used to create clothing, shoes, and accessories. In addition, Ecoalf is also involved in recycling textile fibers, specifically cotton and wool—and finally, Ecoalf has also mastered the challenge of repurposing old car tires as outsoles for shoes.
