This lightweight, classic-style sneaker fits snugly on the foot and comes in a moderate two-tone design. Its two upper materials are recycled polyester and a blend of 80 percent polyurethane (PU) and 20 percent recycled polyester. The lining is also made from polyester and polyurethane. The insole made from ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) is removable and can be replaced with your own insoles if required. The rubber outsole has a distinctive trail profile with multidirectional lugs for good grip and traction, even on uneven terrain.

Spanish designer Javier Goyeneche has found his own way to combat raw material waste. Since 2012, his label Ecoalf has been producing fashion made from recycled fibers. A key project is “Upcycling the Oceans,” founded in 2015, in which more than 4,000 fishermen and fisherwomen from Spain, Thailand, Greece, Italy, France, and Egypt now recover plastic waste from the ocean. This waste is transformed into yarn, which is then used to create clothing, shoes, and accessories. In addition, Ecoalf is also involved in recycling textile fibers, specifically cotton and wool—and finally, Ecoalf has also mastered the challenge of repurposing old car tires as outsoles for shoes.
