The outer fabric of this jacket is a sturdy cotton weave that has been waxed using the wet-wax process. When worn, the fabric reacts to mechanical pressure with visible marks, which quickly give it a worn look and an attractive patina. The jacket definitely offers protection from wind and cold. The body and collar are lined with a voluminous, warm teddy fleece. The sleeves are padded with virgin wool and lined with cupro, a smooth and silky regenerated fiber made from cotton cellulose, which makes the jacket easy to put on and take off. Internal knit cuffs on the sleeves provide a snug fit and keep the wind out. The jacket fastens with a distinctive two-way brass zipper, covered by a wide buttoned placket.
