Merino wool blanket checkerboard

This jacquard woven wool blanket comes up with two special features. Firstly, the material, because the warming, soft and supple merino wool (68%) is mixed with cotton (32%). It ensures that the surface is even more skin-friendly, does not scratch and the blanket has a nice heavy fall. This makes it pleasant to the body. On the other hand, it impresses with its intricate design. At first glance a simple checkerboard pattern, the beautiful color gradient from the two darker shades to the lighter ones only becomes apparent when the blanket is completely spread out. In use, the drape reveals a lively pattern that is nonetheless unagitatedly calm due to the muted colors. The merino wool is spun in Finland and completely processed in the weaving mill in Kankurit. The blanket is woven on jacquard looms, which not only makes the unusual pattern possible, but also causes that the two sides are woven in different colors (as in a doubleface). On the long edges the blanket is worked with so-called eyelash fringes, that is, very short fringes.

The merino wool for this blanket comes from South America and was obtained mulesing-free. The crimped fibers can store a lot of warming air, at the same time they feel pleasantly soft even on sensitive skin.
