Linen weaving has a centuries-old tradition in the Mühlviertel, and over the course of time the region has specialized in the processing of very fine linen yarns. The traditional Vieböck manufactory in Helfenberg produces this fine linen bed linen from a twill weave fabric with a narrow herringbone pattern. With 26 warp threads and 20 weft threads per centimeter, it is particularly dense, fine and yet exceptionally airy and light. The smooth fabric has a pleasantly soft feel and does not fluff. The extra-fine long flax yarns (with a yarn count of Nm 26) also enable a fabric weight of 196 g/sqm, which is extremely low for linen fabric. In addition, the high-quality yarns ensure that the fabric has a "lustre" and a typical linen shimmer.

The good reputation of the Mühlviertel weaving trade was already established around 1600 and in many communities, half of the inhabitants earned their income from weaving or related occupations. The raw material used by the weavers was flax, which was widely cultivated in the Mühlviertel at the time. At the time, weaving products were one of Upper Austria's most important exports. Since around 1700, strict quality and control regulations have ensured compliance with high quality standards. Standards that the traditional Vieböck weaving mill still works to today.

We specify the yarn count in Nm (metric number), whereby the higher the number, the finer the yarn. A yarn count of Nm 100 means that 100 meters of yarn weigh 1 gram. An additional number is added if the yarn is twisted from several single yarns, for example Nm 100/3 for a twisted yarn made from three single yarns.
