Oil can copper

General Information
The tool of the pizzaioli
Olive oil is a condiment. Many a pizzaiolo - that's the official job title for skilled pizza makers in Italy - will attest to that: Good olive oil, spread with elegant sweep in thin threads on the baked pizza, is what gives it its flavorful rounding. On the other hand, black olives, artichokes, mushrooms and the like will not dry out in the high heat of a wood-fired oven if they are drizzled with a little olive oil - but this time before baking - and can then cook more evenly. In all pizzerias in Naples and outside, an oil can like this one, traditionally made of copper, is used for this purpose. Its beak-shaped spout facilitates the dosing of the olive oil, which can be poured in a fine stream. Our jug with cast brass handle is actually made very close to Naples in the small town of Sant'Anastasia. Cu Artigiana still obtains its copper entirely from Italian sources, shapes it with machine assistance and provides it with a very thin tin coating on the inside. The characteristic pattern on the outside is created by hammer blows. If you like, you can also use the beautiful oil jug at the table to dress your salad à la minute.
