But how do you get the perfect portion size? Beginners may prefer the simple barista mode in combination with the quantity setting for one or two cups of espresso. Barista mode allows you to grind at the touch of a button, "on demand", as it is also called: insert the portafilter into the holder under the ejection chute, start the grinding process - and stop as soon as the coffee sieve is filled (to the brim). That's actually always a good idea. In Select mode, you can activate a timer to set the duration of the grinding process and stop it. Good to know: You can set the time intervals for single and double portions yourself and change them at any time.

The single-dose mode in combination with the single-dose portion size is interesting for advanced users. Single dose means that you weigh your beans before grinding and fill exactly this one portion or dose into the bean container of your espresso grinder - no more, but also no less. This is worthwhile if you want to delve deeper into the world of roasts and aromas and switch between light-roasted, more fruity and acidic espresso and dark-roasted, more nutty and chocolaty espresso with a marzipan aroma, or if there are people in your household who prefer decaffeinated beans. Because in single-dose mode, you can switch at any time. As with all Profitec grinders, the TWIST A54 also allows you to continuously adjust and adapt the grinding degree. As usual, the number 54 in the name of the device stands for the diameter of the steel grinding discs, which make it perfect for domestic use.
