Specialized in grinding single portions weighed to the gram, called „Single Dose“, everything about the TWIST SD54 is designed for reliably reproducible quality and outstanding results. Even the design of this special grinder from Profitec in Bammental follows the principle of Single Dose: Elegantly fixed in a slightly inclined position on the base plate, the stainless steel housing helps to ensure that the entire ground portion is ejected without leaving coffee grounds in the aluminum grinder or between the steel grinding discs. As is usual with single-dose grinders, a „Coffee Bellow“ is attached to the filler opening. This is a small bellows that you operate two or three times after each grinding process to blow the inside of your espresso grinder free of residue and remove the last bit of ground coffee. Place the dosing container on your kitchen scales to weigh the espresso beans, and you can also use it afterwards to collect the ground coffee. Practical: If you place the portafilter of your espresso machine (upside down) on the dosing container and turn it upside down once, you have everything you need to start the brewing process in one go. Or almost everything, because a leveler is also supplied, with which the espresso grounds in the portafilter can be smoothed before the final tamping. As is usual with all Profitec grinders, you can adjust the grinding degree continuously between fine and coarse - depending on whether you prefer light or darker roasted espresso. The good thing about the Single-Dose-variant is that you can put a different type of coffee in your grinder from time to time. You can also switch to decaffeinated beans at any time. By the way: As usual, the number 54 in the name of the device stands for the diameter of the grinding disks, which makes it perfect for home use.
