Raised bed hand rake

It's the perfect marriage. This hand rake combines the accuracy of a hand tool with the reach of a tool with a longer handle, allowing back-friendly work in an upright position - for example, to prepare raised beds for sowing, loosen, aerate and smooth the soil in the bed box. The manganese-boron steel tines are forged, and the ash handle fits comfortably in the hand. With the molded knob at the end of the handle, it also allows for a powerful grip should the need arise. Our raised bed hand rake is manufactured in a forge in Upper Franconia, which can look back on over 200 years of family tradition.

With forging, the Krumpholz family knows its stuff. Based in the Franconian Forest, the ancestors acquired the first hammer mill of their own - the Guttenberg Hammer - in 1799 and produced tools and other everyday items from forged iron. Today, the company's fortunes are in the hands of the eighth generation. The garden tools that leave the production site, which is still in its old location but has long since been modernized and enlarged, are tools of the first order: shaped under the weight of the forge hammer to suit their area of use, compacted and reinforced where necessary, provided with sharpened edges or blades and fitted with high-quality handles made of ash wood. Free-form forging, as practiced at Krumpholz, requires special skill and a sense of proportion. The steel used, a Swedish steel with chrome-molybdenum content, is tough, strong and easy to clean.
