For hundreds of years, Limoges, in the former French province of Limousin, has been one of the most important locations in Europe for enamel and porcelain manufacture and decoration. Our Limoges porcelain products are pressed into a metal form and smooth fired smooth at 1400 °C. All window and door fittings are solid brass and turned on a lathe, milled and then nickel plated. The exposed parts will tend to tarnish if you do not occasionally polish them.
The right rosettes.
With the small rosettes (Ø 4.5 cm) the screw holes are 32 mm apart, center to center, which is why they will not fit on standard doors with a center to center distance of 38 mm. That’s why we are offering larger rosettes (at an impressive 6.5 cm Ø), which feature a center to center spacing of 52 mm.
You must order two items: the pair of handles and a set of rosettes or backplates.
From France. Limoges porcelain
Limoges, located in the former French province of Limousin, has been one of the most important sites of porcelain production in Europe for centuries. The following lever handles are made of Limoges porcelain, pressed in a metal mold and burned smooth at 1,400 °C. For the variants in black, the color layer is applied opaquely in two operations - an additional expense that makes the price difference understandable.
All brass parts are turned from the solid material, milled and nickel-plated. The bare parts will darken to a warm tone unless you polish them now and then.
