Set children's tableware porcelain
General Information
Such small hands. Hold child-friendly tableware
A slightly waisted cup, a bowl with a high-arched bottom and slightly inward sloping edge: the design of this children's porcelain tableware is intelligently thought out not only in aesthetic terms, but especially in functional terms.
The waist of the cup prevents the vessel from slipping out of the hands of the offspring and thus facilitates both the access and the holding of the offspring, moreover, thanks to the tapered center, the liquid spills over less quickly when drinking.
In the bowl, the high-arched bottom forms a small rim hollow, in which the food can be picked up more easily with a spoon or fork. Even the next challenge - moving the spoon with the food from the bowl to the mouth - is easier for children to master thanks to the inwardly sloping rim: the morsel is not scooped over the rim onto the table, but remains on the cutlery, ready for oral docking. Even children with little motor skills can enjoy muesli and mashed potatoes, spinach, peas and broccoli - or rather their favorite foods. Chocolate ice cream, vanilla pudding, fruit curd ...
By the way, the offspring is offered another advantage: the cup also has a bottom curved inward. Placed in the bowl, he thus finds better grip - a helpful design when the offspring wants to help clear the table.
Scooped from life, shaped for life
"I want to do this alone!" Where that call rings through the room, ergonomically shaped cups and bowls that help youngsters handle things on their own are useful but rare. That was the experience of the founder of the young label Zaunkönig. The usual plastic tableware was out of the question, of course, and from her own everyday life (and that of her children) she also knew that the little ones often push their food back and forth on the plate for a long time, unsuccessfully, before a bite lands more or less accidentally on the spoon or fork (and stays there). Likewise, drinking from a cup is quite a difficult undertaking while children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination are still in training camp.
Living with children requires tangible child-friendly solutions. Therefore, the designer created a tableware that meets both her requirements and the needs of children in terms of materials, design and sustainability. And so her tableware is made of robust, high-quality porcelain, in an easy-grip design optimized for children's hands, which at the same time convinces with its purist aesthetics. The production of the cups and bowls is guaranteed by a southern German ceramic manufactory. From hollow casting in plaster molds to fettling and deburring to partial glazing, all steps are carried out by hand. At the end is a children's tableware, which can be used without further ado also by adults - over generations.
