It owes its name "The Lucky Dog", the first joint feature film of the comedian duo Laurel and Hardy - whose namesakes are also part of this side table series. ... the side tables from the think tank of graduate designer Boris Bandyopadhyay fulfill these three criteria. As stand-alone pieces, they are as practical as they are aesthetically pleasing; combined together, they also create an impressive table sculpture.

Solid oak wood from local forests is carefully glued, sanded smooth and finally oiled. The construction is designed in such a way that the overhang of the base corresponds to the length of the table top - the result is a filigree-looking, yet very solid shelf that retains its stability even when loaded on one side. Because as you know, life without a side table is possible, but uncomfortable. As soon as you have taken a seat on the sofa or armchair, you notice the lack of a sturdy tray. On the lap, the shelf prevents any change in sitting position, the floor is too low and the adjacent shelf is too high.

Only a storage surface at a conveniently accessible sitting height efficiently meets the need - and in the case of the oak side tables, offers two additional functionalities: The cantilevered table top is ideal for use as a work surface, as the table can be pulled so close that the top overhangs the seat, allowing laptop & co. to be used comfortably. Meanwhile, the parallel wooden elements of the leg can hold one or two documents, newspapers, magazines or even the narrow coffee table book that needs to be moved out of the way.
