Steam Engine Construction Kit
Dawn of the industrial revolution. The steam engine
"En Dampfmaschin, dat is ene jroße, rounde schwarze Raum. And the big, round black room has two holes. Dat eine Loch, da kömmt der Dampf rein, und dat andere Loch, dat kriejen mer später." With these words in Ripuarian tongues, grammar school professor Bömmel introduced his explanations of how the steam engine works in Feuerzangenbowle. Whether this was enlightening for his pupils, we will leave undecided. The enthusiasm for learning about a small-scale steam engine remains unbroken, at least to this day.
Paradox: Cardboard for steam
Building a steam engine out of cardboard seems absurd, but it works perfectly - we tested it: It took our in-house engineer ten hours to assemble and commission (according to the manufacturer, 9-15 hours). Absolutely recommended for this are a folding leg (you can also find it in our assortment) and a large table on which all parts can be spread out. You will also need two-component glue, aluminum foil and eight 1-eurocent pieces, as well as four tea lights that will later heat the tinplate steam boiler. If work has been done carefully, the machine will run "like clockwork", even fine adjustments to the piston and valve stem are possible.
