Stoneware Storage Pot
Made from Westerwald clay. Pots for onions, garlic and potatoes.
A pottery in the small town of Ransbach-Baumbach produces these storage vessels. The family run manufacture with real Westerwald clay goes back 150 years. The pots are poured into forms and the lids are turned on pottery wheels.
After they have been poured, the pots are dried for a longer period of time, after which they are glazed and fired at 1250 °C. The densely sintered material has no pores and is waterproof, making it easy to clean, as well as impact resistant with strong edges.
Stored in a dark, cool place with good circulation the Westerwald pots protect vegetables from drying out and extend their shelf life.
