    General Information

More than the sum of its parts

Countless figures can be created from the seven geometric shapes of a tangram game. Some collections of templates list well over 1,000 different possibilities. So you will be able to occupy yourself with this tangram for a long time. Our version offers the best conditions for this, because it is neatly crafted from sanded beech wood. This wood is by nature very strong and robust and also accepts unsuccessful attempts and incessant corrections long-suffering.

Therefore, prepare yourself for many pleasurable and concentrated hours of play - you are not alone in this, because the world has been playing Tangram for a long time, for a very long time. The origins of the tile-laying game lie in China, where its history probably dates back to the 4th or even 8th century BC. Behind the name "Tangram", however, there is no mysterious Buddhist wisdom, rather it is an artificial word with slight echoes of the later ruling but better known Tang Dynasty (617/618-907).

As vague as the origins of the tangram game are, its high entertainment value is clear, making it a popular game of tile-laying to this day, for young and old alike, for solo tinkerers and team thinkers alike. It trains your visual imagination (and also your ability to concentrate and be patient) if you want to successfully lay the seven geometric shapes - five triangles in three sizes, a square and a parallelogram created by cutting up a square - to the given figures. This is because the templates only reproduce the silhouette of the overall figure without revealing the contours of the individual parts. So it's always amazing to see where, for example, the small triangle is hidden and what effect just moving the parallelogram can have - and one time or another you won't be able to escape the impression that the whole is more than the sum of its parts.

    Warning:

Not suitable for children under 3 years. Risk of suffocation due to small parts that can be swallowed.
