Tea towel diamond pattern
General Information
Rhombuses in linen. Absorbent and durable
The diamond pattern has a centuries-old tradition, again and again it appears in old archives, in coats of arms, on robes and even on old Swedish dragon sculptures. It is also known in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria. The Leinenweberei Vieböck has been producing fine linen fabrics there since 1832 - including this tea towel with a diamond pattern. It is bordered on the long sides by a 6 cm wide zigzag pattern.
Vieböck uses pure linen from European long-fiber flax for the tea towel: Prebleached linen yarn in the warp (thickness Nm 10) and yarn-dyed linen in the weft (thickness Nm 13) are woven in a twill weave. This makes the cloth a durable, absorbent aid in the kitchen, because linen is naturally dirt-repellent, anti-static and low-linting, thanks to its smooth surface it is easy to clean and it dries amazingly fast. Before use, it is recommended to wash the cloth two or three times to develop its full absorbency.
