Unisex hip bag cotton

As with all Melawear products, this hip bag is made entirely from GOTS certified materials and is Fairtrade certified. Unlike models made of leather, the cotton canvas here ensures that the hip bag is lightweight and not bulky. The strap is also made of cotton canvas, slightly stronger than the one used for the body and long enough to be able to wear the hip bag "crossbody". It is infinitely adjustable and easy to fit any hip up to a maximum circumference of 140 cm. The large main compartment and a small compartment on the back close with a zipper.
The canvas is very tightly woven and therefore naturally (in moderation) water repellent and quick drying. If you want to strengthen or refresh the water-repellent effect of the cotton canvas, Melawear recommends a GOTS-certified waterproofing spray.

The Kassel-based label Melawear stands for fairly and ecologically produced clothing, backpacks and sneakers, all made in India. Mela is Hindi and means “acting together” – the brand’s core idea. Melawear personally selects its partners on-site and regularly undergoes the controls of the Fairtrade and GOTS certification bodies. The company’s products meet the highest sustainability standards: from organic cotton cultivation to dyeing and from fabric production to finishing. Hence, the “Grüne Kopf” (i. e., green button in German) has been awarded to Melawear. The German Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (i. e., Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) set up this state-licensed textile seal in cooperation with the German Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (i. e., Society for International Cooperation). The seal distinguishes companies that already meet particularly demanding social and environmental standards and want to expand this high level even further. The fashion brand’s focus is also on sustainability in terms of design. Melawear wants its products to be timeless alternatives to the items of the fast-moving fashion industry.
