With its generous size of no less than one by two meters, this scarf can be worn in a variety of ways, as a scarf, as a wrapped top or as a pareo (wrap skirt). The light and airy cotton fabric features a colorful, large floral pattern. Short fringes finish off the ends of the scarf. The Moismont lettering is printed in a matching color.

Behind the Moismont label, based in Picardy, France, are Martine and Jacques Bijvoet. Through their fashion, the couple champion authenticity and tradition. It is therefore no surprise that their scarves and stoles, garments, and bags blend French textile design with traditional Indian weaving craftsmanship. After all, the original scarf (which, as we understand it, is worn more like a stole) once made its way from the Indian subcontinent to Europe. And to this day, this scarf-making culture remains very much alive in India: yarn-dyeing, weaving, and printing techniques are passed down there from generation to generation—across three carefully distinguished trades, each of which possesses and safeguards its own unique expertise.
