Thus, Genesis Footwear processes for the upper material discarded accommodation blankets from Swiss army stocks and thus uses the advantages of the fabric designed for durability and functionality at the same time: The tightly knit felt keeps you warm and is also somewhat water repellent. The lining is a blended fabric that includes organic cotton and some recycled polyester, as well as hand-woven abaca banana canvas. The top of the insole is made from leftover wine cork production, and its bottom is made from crotch-cushioning ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam. All seams and the laces are made from recycled PET bottles. Only the outsole does not get around new materials. But even here, at least 40 percent of the natural rubber used comes from sustainable cultivation.
Finally, all suppliers have a wide range of certifications, including those of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and the Global Recycle Standard (GRS). And Genesis Footwear itself is also licensed by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Genesis Footwear Is a sneaker label that focuses on fair working conditions and responsible use of natural resources, without compromising on design. That's why Genesis sneakers are made almost entirely from recycled and environmentally friendly materials. Although the production is around five to seven times more expensive than the big players in the sneaker industry due to the elaborate production and good working conditions, the final price is still not higher. This is possible because Genesis deliberately does without classic advertising and marketing, which accounts for around 70 percent of the price of the big brands. The declared goal here: to be competitive with a fair sales price. Last but not least, Genesis Footwear donates a portion of the profits generated to organizations dedicated to the welfare of the waters, such as One Earth - One Ocean, the Surfrider Foundation and Sea Shepherd.
