Vases bisque porcelain
Sextet or soloist career. Star appearance bisque porcelain.
Whether placed as a group or individually here and there, these vases of white bisque porcelain fit in everywhere with their unpretentious design and let their contents - leaf, flower or branch - take the lead (rather, the appearance). Thanks to the different proportions, you can always find the right size for individual flowers from the garden or small arrangements. The vases also help flowers from faded bouquets that are still in full splendor to make a second appearance as soloists.
The vases are made of fine bisque porcelain. Its silky matte, unglazed surface does not reflect light and is therefore reminiscent of marble or alabaster. Nevertheless, unlike the name suggests, it is as resistant and solid as glazed porcelain. The set consists of six vases of different heights (7,5-13 cm) and diameters (4,5-8 cm). They are manufactured in a porcelain factory in Upper Franconia.
Silky matte surface and slightly translucent. Cookie porcelain.
Biscuit porcelain was invented in France in 1753 and soon adopted by almost all porcelain manufactories in Europe. The unglazed white, double-fired porcelain has a matte surface reminiscent of alabaster or marble. This makes it predestined for modeling the finest details - which is why bisque porcelain was traditionally used for figurative porcelain creations as well as for so-called lithophanies. These "light screens" were already very popular from the mid-19th century onwards: translucent materials such as glass or very thin-walled baked porcelain were provided with ornamental or figural reliefs for this purpose, which, however, only develop their full optical effect when they are illuminated from the back. That the fine porcelain does not even need such chasing to play out its aesthetic appeal, shows this group of small vases made of bisque porcelain.
