Vegan oilcloth

These wax cloths made from organic cotton offer a double alternative, as they are coated with a mixture of sunflower wax, spruce resin and coconut oil instead of beeswax. This means that they not only replace cling film and aluminum foil, but also beeswax cloths if you want to avoid animal products altogether. The vegan wax cloths protect food - whether fruit, vegetables or snacks - like a second bowl, allowing the food to breathe and stay fresh and crunchy for longer. You can also use the oilcloth to cover bowls, dishes, plates and bottles in the fridge or in the pantry. To do this, place it in the middle, stretch the cloth and use the warmth of your hands to create adhesion around the edge of the container.

The vegan oilcloths can be reused as often as required and are easy to clean. Light stains can be removed with cold water and a little washing-up liquid, stubborn incrustations can be carefully scraped off with the back of a knife. If some mold has formed on the surface, clean this area and treat with vinegar. However, if the textile is affected, you should dispose of the oilcloth. As it is 100% natural, it can theoretically simply be disposed of in the compost. This is because attention is paid to the quality of the purely natural ingredients during the manufacturing process - all work steps are carried out by hand. The cotton used comes from controlled organic cultivation and is not bleached, and the fair-trade coconut oil from the Philippines is also organic. The spruce resin comes from sustainable cultivation in France. However, it is much more practical to use the used oilcloth as a sustainable barbecue lighter instead of disposing of it in the compost. Due to its oil, fat and resin content, this works extremely well.
