This pan doesn't look like a classic grill pan (with grill-grate-like ridges) at all. Nevertheless, it is a pan for grilling - the circular holes punched in the bottom indicate that. You know the principle from the usual (disposable) grill pans made of aluminum or stainless steel: pieces of vegetables, cheese, tofu, seafood or meatballs can be cooked evenly from all sides and tossed over the fire without escaping through the grate. Made of iron and with a strong riveted handle, the pan is best equipped for direct contact with grill grate, embers heat and/or gas heat. It is manufactured by the traditional company de Buyer in France. Like any good iron pan, this one deserves to be well fried or "grilled in", so we recommend brushing the bottom of the pan with a little frying fat first (marinade will burn). Tip: At chestnut time, our vegetable grill pan is also suitable for roasting chestnuts like at the Christmas market.
