Let winter come! Dressed in this cozy knit sweater, the cold won’t bother you, and you’ll feel completely at ease. Les Racines du Ciel combines two premium fibers into a soft, warm, and temperature-regulating knit. The sweater is made up of about half Peruvian alpaca hair. This valuable natural fiber is exceptionally fine and supple, and as a hollow fiber, it possesses outstanding thermal insulation properties. Additionally, alpaca hair is considered particularly hypoallergenic, as it contains almost no lanolin (wool grease). This luxurious material is complemented by long-staple Pima cotton, which is exceptionally soft and durable thanks to its long fibers.

Since the sweater is fisherman’s knit, it features a voluminous, textured knit pattern while remaining feather-light, elastic, and breathable. The use of yarns in different colors creates a vibrant melange effect. The sweater is crafted in a classic style: with a relaxed fit, raglan sleeves, and ribbed cuffs at the neck, sleeves, and hem.

On the western tip of the Breton peninsula lies the department of Finistère. According to the Roman name, this is the end of the earth. For the Bretons, on the other hand, it is “Penn ar Bed”, the beginning of the world – a reading that does far more justice to the brand “Les Racines du Ciel” (i. e., the roots of heaven). Nathalie Goyette and Christian Tournafol founded the Quimper-based brand. The two have been producing elegant, feminine and timeless women’s fashion since 2005. Besides aiming at high-quality standards, Les Racines du Ciel’s declared entrepreneurial goal is to promote artisanal traditions and products and thus preserve jobs in impoverished rural areas. They choose their production locations correspondingly.
