For these socks, Lanius uses yarns made from warm, temperature-regulating virgin wool from certified organic animal husbandry and skin-friendly, certified organic cotton. A small amount of recycled polyamide and spandex ensures greater elasticity and shape retention. The leg of the sock is knitted in an irregular rib pattern. The heel, sole, and toe are knitted in stockinette stitch.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
