Thanks to the combination of virgin wool and cotton, these socks provide a comfortable foot climate in every season. The virgin wool keeps your feet warm and can absorb a lot of moisture, which is quickly wicked away. It also hardly absorbs odors. Cotton is gentle on the skin and gives the sock greater durability and stability. A small amount of recycled polyamide and spandex is added for greater elasticity and shape retention. The cuff is made of a flat, stretchy ribbed knit. The heel, toe area, and sole are knitted in stockinette stitch. The virgin wool used comes from certified organic animal husbandry, and the cotton from certified organic farming.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
