This fringeless rib-knit scarf made from pure wool is almost geometrically austere yet colorful. The knitted fabric is 39 centimetres wide and 1.90 meters long, which allows for many wrapping options. The scarf is made up of two colored longitudinal blocks - one blue, one olive. The wide red block at one end of the scarf provides a striking yet harmonious contrast. The wool used is certified in accordance with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).

Behind the walls of the McKernan Woollen Mills in Tuamgraney, in the Irish county of Clare, Anke and Eugene McKernan have been crafting fine woven and knitted scarves since 1985—currently with a staff of five. In doing so, they bridge the past and the present. For example, they weave on old Hattersley looms—true classics among mechanical looms that have long since gone out of production and are therefore carefully maintained. The same goes for a roughly 50-year-old Stoll knitting machine, which the McKernans have paired with their “most recent” acquisition: two computer-controlled machines. So much for the technical aspects: What makes their products so unique, however, is above all the deep understanding of materials, colors, and patterns that stems from pure hand weaving—and the enthusiasm with which everyone in this family-run business is fully committed to their craft.
