Work and serving table Plico, rollable

The serving trolley PLICO designed by Richard Sapper in the 70s is one of his lesser known projects, although it can be counted among his strongest designs. Among his more popular designs are the TIZIO work lamp or the ZOOM BIKE bicycle, which folds to a minimal size. Sapper was a master of construction and a great lover of so-called collapsibles. These space-saving products are foldable or can be modified thanks to their construction, becoming more versatile in their application. Sapper himself declared it an essential goal of his design work to solve and remedy problems or shortcomings that can be detected in already existing objects. PLICO is handy and extremely compact when folded. Simply grasp the top shelf and pull upwards - and the furniture folds up. When folded, PLICO takes up minimal space, can be placed behind the kitchen door or between two pieces of kitchen furniture, for example, and remains stable thanks to the brakes on the rear wheels. It can be used in many ways, as a serving trolley, as a side table by the bed or sofa, or even as a small, extremely flexible work table where you want to sit with your laptop and also need shelves for this and that work utensils. With a simple flick of the wrist, the top shelf is folded down, completely changing the structure of the cart. The shelf now sticks out a little above the cart and thus serves as a usable surface.

The structure of the serving cart is made of black painted steel. The shelves are made of matte black painted thermoplastic resin, a very high quality and durable plastic. Four rubberized casters, two of them steerable and two equipped with locking brakes, glide even over textile floors.
