We've had these socks made by a firm that's managed to resist the tide of cheap imports by virtue of being 'highly' specialised: high quality of both workmanship and materials – so high that they can be left as they are, without synthetic extras.

Appreciated for many years now by outdoor people, these socks are knitted of 50% cotton and 50% wool – ideal mixture, combining warmth, absorbency (without feeling damp!), softness and a pleasant feel. Reinforced heels and toes. Wash at 30°C.

These socks are manufactured in the Münsterland region. As is often the case in textile production, a collection of old machines contributes to their quality. Here, they are 1950s Bentley-Komet circular knitting machines. They are capable of processing materials such as linen and distributing yarns in a differentiated manner throughout the sock’s structure: reinforced in areas subject to the greatest stress, or using two different yarns for the inner and outer sides. The result is socks with a great fit that are hard-wearing and durable.
