Zhenobya Antiochia soap
Antiochia soap. With 30% laurel oil.
The ancient Syrian Antioch (on the Orontes) was located about 80 kilometers west of Aleppo, today this area belongs to Turkey. From this city, which is already mentioned in the Bible, comes one of the oldest recipes of Mesopotamia: the Antioch soap. It was already produced in early antiquity - according to the same recipe as today with 30% laurel oil. It is made like the Aleppo soap, with the difference that only distilled water and olive oil of first pressing may be used, which again increases its quality and effect.
The soap has a fresh, subtle scent, it is strongly refatting, soothes the skin and can therefore also be used for the face and dry and sensitive skin. Due to its very high content of laurel oil, it is particularly suitable for problem skin prone to impurities.
Old traditional soaps. Boiled by Zhenobya.
Zhenobya is one of the traditional soap boiling factories in Aleppo and one of the very few there that can currently boil soaps at all. In addition to the famous Aleppo soaps, they also make natural soaps whose recipes originally come from cities in the Middle East, where the soap boiling has as long a tradition as in Aleppo: Nablus in the West Bank, Mardin in southeastern Turkey and ancient Antioch, now Antakya in southwestern Turkey.
