General Information

Less drama. More loyalty

The forget-me-not is considered the flower of lovers who swear eternal loyalty to one another. As romantic as this idea is, there’s actually a rather dramatic legend behind it that has been passed down through folklore for centuries: Once upon a time, a knight was strolling along the riverbank with his beloved damsel when he spotted a blue flower that he simply had to give to her. But as he reached down to pick it on the damp bank, he slipped, fell into the water—and his heavy armor mercilessly dragged him down into the depths. With his last ounce of strength, the knight tossed the little flower to his lady and cried out, “Don’t forget me!” before he was swept away by the floodwaters. It seems he hasn’t been forgotten in many places: In England, this ever-blooming little plant is known as “Forget-me-not”; in France, it’s also called “Ne m’oubliez pas”; in Italy, it implores “Non ti scordar di me,” and so on…

Made of pure New Zealand virgin wool, this hand-felted forget-me-not doesn’t make a big deal out of its story. It simply brings a touch of spring to your decorations, whether as a graceful standalone piece in a small vase, a floral accent on a napkin, or an extra embellishment for a gift. Oh, and it will faithfully adorn your creations for years to come—even without you falling in love with a knight or a damsel.

Fairly combined. Gry & Sif

During her backpacking trip through Nepal, the Dane Gry Staunstrup was immediately captivated by the openness and warmth of the people - and by their high level of craftsmanship. She was able to observe in detail how skillfully and skilfully Nepalese women felted wool into Objekten. The idea of using this skill and combining Nepalese craftsmanship with Danish design was quickly born. And the idea was immediately followed by action.

Since 2000, the company Gry & Sif has been producing a wide range of products from wool felt in Nepal. The designs supplied by Gry Staunstrup are in typical Danish design, as striking as they are discreet and at the same time carefree and cheerful; the production is carried out by Nepalese women using traditional craftsmanship. Now Fair Trade certified, Gry & Sif stands for fair wages, good working conditions and transparency. Only pure new wool from New Zealand sheep is used for the felt products - each of which is unique and handmade.

Note:

Certain manufacturing steps are carried out by hand. Slight dimensional and color deviations may therefore occur.
