    General Information

    Heroic in spring and winter

In nature, forsythia like to blossom right away in all their fullness - once they have gotten around to it, they herald heroically the first spring. With this hand-felted forsythia branch, you don't have to wait that long at all: instead, you can already bring the forsythia blossom into your home with the first budding (pre-)spring feelings. Felt from pure new wool from New Zealand, the flowering branch enchants your home permanently with its yellow blossoms - so reliably that you can integrate it just as beautifully into your Christmas decorations. After all, popular custom knows that on St. Barbara's Day, December 4, forsythia branches cut for the vase will bloom for Christmas. With the felted forsythia branch, you not only bridge three weeks of waiting, but also immediately increase your anticipation of a blooming feast.

Tip: Make sure you have sufficient distance from the flower water, if you want to combine the felt branch with a bouquet of fresh branches and cut flowers. To do this, loop its felt-wrapped wire stem at the appropriate height around one of the natural branches.

A Fair Collaboration. Gry & Sif

During her backpacking tour through Nepal, the Dane Gry Staunstrup got to know the astonishing openness and warmth of the country’s inhabitants, and their craftsmanship bedazzled her. She was able to observe in detail how adeptly and skilfully Nepalese women felted wool into a wide variety of objects. Staunstrup felt it was time to make something good out of the untapped potential, and an idea was born: to combine Nepalese handicrafts with Danish design. And the idea was immediately followed by action.

The company Gry & Sif started producing a variety of products made of wool felt in Nepal in 2000. The designs created by Gry Staunstrup are as remarkable as they are understated and, characteristic of Danish design, at the same time fresh and merry. Nepalese women turn them into products employing traditional handicrafts. Fair Trade certified by now, Gry & Sif stands for fair wages and working conditions, environmentally conscious production and transparency. The company exclusively sources pure new wool from New Zealand sheep for the felting; each of the resulting products is handmade and unique.
