This is what product development looks like at Manufactum. It's not unusual for us to approach our manufacturers* with a product idea - or for them to approach us - and we work together to design good things for our range. Our garden sideboard is the result of such a collaboration. With this weatherproof equipment you get it only from us.

When we designed the sideboard, we paid special attention to the fact that it has enough storage space. And it also has a 150 x 50 cm countertop, which is covered with zinc sheet (the base is a solid plywood). On the level below, there is another area of 125 x 38 cm as a shelf, which is also covered with zinc sheet. The six drawers provide an enormous amount of storage space and hold garden tools and utensils, barbecue accessories or the children's sandbox toys. They can be completely removed and taken to where their contents are needed at the moment.
Please note:
Oak wood contains tannic acid and can secrete tannin particles at high temperatures, which can cause discoloration.

This patio furniture is made for us in a Lüneburg furniture workshop from the weather-resistant wood of oak in stud construction and solid design: The longitudinal frames are secured by means of metric screw connections with cross threaded bolts and the cross frames are glued waterproof. The shelves are covered with solid zinc sheet - that lasts; in France, for example, zinc sheet has a long tradition as a work surface on kitchen tables. The feet are fitted with plastic glides that keep wetness out from underneath and protect patio tiles.

Three small and three large drawers made of rugged oak, with a spacious work top and underneath a storage space the same size covered with sheet zinc. The six solid drawers with slot fitted bottoms offer enormous storage space and will accommodate garden implements and tools, or grill accessories and dishes for outside. Or the children’s sandbox toys. The drawers can be removed entirely and serve as transport boxes.
A tip for use:
Oak has a very long service life outdoors but adapts to the climate, the surface changing over time (small cracks and deformations may occur). The color may also change to a typical grey while the sheet zinc will accumulate a matt patina.
