Behind Hack Lederware is Christoph Hack, founder and fine bag maker with his own studio in Cologne. He has been working with a wide variety of leathers for decades, gaining a wealth of experience that flows into the design of the garments. For example, Hack only uses leather with natural finishes from Germany, Italy and Scandinavia to create hard-wearing, functional clothing and simple accessories. The models made from cowhide, horsehide and deerskin document traces of an animal's life such as insect bites or thorn cracks.

The secret lies in the fine cotton yarns, which are woven very densely and tightly. The fabric gets its weather resistance from the wax-based impregnation.
